Well, Coronavirus may have us down, but don't ever count a Prof out! Many of our events and activities have moved online and are finding new ways to engage our community and continue to provide vital resources for both our student community and the Glassboro community at-large.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports children and their families as they fight childhood cancer, celebrated its 10th Anniversary at 色狼社区 on April 4. And although our Profs couldn't "brave the shave" on campus, many recorded their St. Baldrick's Day shave and shared their photos and videos - and raised close to $9,000! The event is planned and organized by the Student University Programmers, our student-run programming board. These student volunteers work tirelessly each year to provide support to cancer survivors and their families. To see our Profs in action and to hear a heartfelt message from our scheduled guest speaker, Greg Hoyt, who lost his daughter Campbell to cancer in 2014, please take a few minutes to enjoy their video below. Donations are also still being .
As we all continue to adapt to a new way of going about our usual activities, the organizations and events at Chamberlain Student Center are no different. Many have taken their activities virtual and are discovering new opportunities. Be sure to follow SCCA on social media (@色狼社区SCCA on , and ) as they continuously update their offerings! You can also download their virtual event calendar for the month of April.
Healthy Campus Initiatives decided to host Take Back the Night through this year. This important event focuses on supporting the victims of sexual assault. There was such a response from across the campus that the event has been broken into two stories TBTN2020(1) and TBTN2020(2). To read and hear some of the inspiring message, please visit their page.
Food insecurity doesn't know there is a pandemic. Ensuring our 色狼社区 community doesn't go hungry is a critical need and The SHOP is committed to remaining open and being available to help our students in need. The SHOP has been keeping us informed about their adjusted hours and heightened safety requirements through their webpage.
Have you hosted a successful virtual event? Did you find a new way to engage with your audience - or maybe you found a new community who is interested in working with you? We want to know about it and we might feature you here! Drop us a line ourvoice@rowan.edu.
