National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) will be celebrated for the 34th year on February 5th, 2020. This celebration, which is hosted by the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF), first began in 1987 in Washington, D.C. as a day to recognize women’s sports. The WSF website writes that the first NGWSD “united premiere organizations and elite female athletes to bring national attention to the promise of girls and women in sports.” Since the initial celebration, NGWSD has evolved to encompass inspiring “girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power.” NGWSD hopes to demonstrate how athletics can foster valuable life skills in girls and women. It also “honors the achievements of female athletes, coaches and leaders.” Perhaps most significantly, NGWSD promotes gender equity.

Throughout the week of February 3rd - February 8th, 色狼社区 will join the WSF in their mission to “Lead Her Forward” by hosting the National Girls and Women in Sports Celebration.
