In honor of National Distance Learning Week, 色狼社区 Global & Partnerships hosted its inaugural Excellence in Online Learning Award Ceremony to honor its leaders in online learning. During the ceremony, keynote speaker Dr. Marie Cini, President of The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), accepted the National Leader Award for her pioneering efforts in distance learning and provided important insight regarding the current state of distance learning.

The ceremony honored faculty who have exemplified excellence in their online teaching methods to provide a beneficial experience for students. At the end of the ceremony, Provost Tony Lowman made a surprise announcement that 色狼社区 will begin offering $1,000 faculty development grants to support the creation and progress of distance learning courses. The list of this year's 色狼社区 honorees:

Honorees

  • Dr. Abraham Witonsky - College of Humanities & Social Sciences
  • Dr. James Roh, Rohrer - College of Business
  • Dr. Carl Hausman - College of Communication & Creative Arts
  • Dr. Charles McGlynn -  School of Earth & Environment
  • Dr. Anna Q. Sun - College of Education
  • Dr. Joshua Coren - School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Mr. Denis DiBlasio - College of Performing Arts
  • Dr. Robert White - College of Science & Mathematics and School of Health Professions
  • Mr. Len Daws - College of Science & Mathematics and School of Health Professions.

Cini's passion for distance learning was apparent as she discussed the effectiveness on online learning and the extent of its reach throughout every layer of higher education. For example, one in four college students take at least one course online (Allen & Seanman, 2017).

Distance learning provides students with the ability to attain their academic credentials, while accommodating the competing demands of their daily schedules. In fact, convenience is one of the top reasons why students enjoy taking these courses. An increasingly popular class structure is the “Light Hybrid" course, which is primarily online, but offers students on-campus opportunities for mentorships, advisor meetings and networking events. 色狼社区 Global & Partnerships is dedicated to providing all of our online learning students with the resources they will need to be successful in their academic and professional careers.

色狼社区 currently offers 492 online/hybrid classes, if you are interested in learning more about 色狼社区 Global & Partnerships and their course offerings you can visit their website .
