Today we meet Eric Brennan, assistant director of admissions with Global Learning & Partnerships. 

In your position, what kinds of things do you do on a daily basis? 

In admissions what I do on a daily basis constantly changes, but it always revolves around improving a student’s first interaction with É«ÀÇÉçÇø. I typically serve as a support to our admissions team in a number of different capacities. Together we work through any issues regarding a student’s application or a particular process we could improve in order to improve the students overall experience. I help potential students through the admissions process as well, identifying programs that fit them best. Additionally, I work closely with É«ÀÇÉçÇø Global’s Academic Program Review Portal, connecting our faculty and other departments with our marketing team to ensure new programs and existing programs are communicated accurately both internally to faculty and staff and externally to students.  

Could you share your top three tips for customer service?

• Listen carefully to the customer to understand their question or concern.
• Address their question or concern with a level empathy and understanding while providing a simple and accurate solution.
• Exhaust all avenues on behalf of the customer before transferring them to another department for help.

Could you share one helpful hint that's worked for you for communication etiquette and professionalism? 

Responding promptly to emails. For face-to-face communication, ask probing questions that help you better understand the situation, process, goal, etc.

What is your favorite part of your job? 

Brainstorming with coworkers to identify ways to constantly improve our operations and the overall experience for the student. I enjoy listening to and understanding different perspectives to a particular issue.

Share one thing you love about working at É«ÀÇÉçÇø.

The scale at which É«ÀÇÉçÇø has grown and being a part of such a diverse educational community. The number of different food options on campus is a plus as well.

Share one thing you wish people knew about your department. 

The 2019 Summer Employee Softball Championship will be won by É«ÀÇÉçÇø Global. We’ve made a lot of offseason acquisitions and we’re revamping our practice sessions.

Do you ever visit campus for fun? 

Yes, for É«ÀÇÉçÇø Men’s Basketball games.
