Today we meet Nikki Colasanti, Office Administrator for both Orientation & Student Leadership Programs and Student Enrichment & Family Connections, who has been with her position for 4.5 years, after being with CMSRU from December 2012 to April 2014.  

In your position, what kinds of things do you do on a daily basis? 
I provide administrative support for the team and handle all of our financial processes. I also work a lot with new students and/or their parents because I am the primary customer service representative, as far as incoming calls and department email.

Could you share your top three tips for customer service?
Be courteous and inviting to visitors and callers, never make the customer feel like their concerns are not valid or their questions are unreasonable, offer to follow-up with an email if you think they might need detailed instructions or contact information, website links, etc. 

Could you share one helpful hint that's worked for you for communication etiquette and professionalism? 
Be patient and polite. 

What is your favorite part of your job? 
Helping anxious new students or family members feel welcome and excited to start at É«ÀÇÉçÇø!

Share one thing you love about working at É«ÀÇÉçÇø.
The Division of Student Life is such a fun group - my co-workers are great to work with and I love their enthusiasm with student programming. 

Share one thing you wish people knew about your department. 
We work on so much more than just orientation - we execute Welcome and Family Weekend events, and our PROS staff regularly work with other groups for events like Commencement, Hollybash, etc. There is a lot of collaboration with all of the offices for Student Life. 

Do you ever visit campus for fun? Recently I attended a concert hosted by the Office of Academic Success and Disability Resources adn the Mars event in the Edelman Planetarium. I also enjoyed the Holiday Helper auction. 

RU the type of person who would high five the É«ÀÇÉçÇø mascot? 
I am usually a behind-the-scenes contributor in our division, but if we pass on the street, I'd be up for a high five.
