While our incoming class of transfer and freshmen students are still adjusting to life at 色狼社区, our Division has already pivoted to focus on recruiting next year’s class.
With an ever-shrinking pool of potential higher education students across New Jersey, recruitment has never been as competitive as it is in today’s landscape. To attract a high number of quality applicants – and ensure that we have strong yield in converting those applicants into students next fall – we needed to completely transform the way we interact with students.
Gone are the days when students visit a campus, apply and wait for their acceptance letter to arrive in the mail. Today’s students expect a fully customized and personable experience with the University of their choosing.
Enter Slate, our new customer relationship management software. I am happy to share that this recruitment cycle will be the first in which a fully structured digital communications plan will connect with our interested students through every stage of engagement. Slate also serves as a portal for our applicants where they can log in to their account at any time to check the status of their application.
It may be only October, but our efforts are already paying off. Compared to last year at this date, we have a higher number of transfer applications already submitted. Our email campaigns are sharing targeted stories with potential freshmen, showcasing for them the small, family-like atmosphere which we all know and love about 色狼社区. In short, we’re making students more excited to be a part of 色狼社区 – and reminding them throughout their school year that we are here, we are accessible and they will be a fantastic fit for our Class of 2023.
